Carlos Nadal was born in Paris in 1917 to Catalonian parents who moved back to Barcelona in 1922. He started his artistic education at the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona. In 1945 he moved to Paris where he exhibited his paintings in many galleries, and came to know Pablo Picasso. Later on Nadal moved to Brussels. His first one-man show was held in the Barcelonan gallery ‘La Pinacoteca’ in 1944. He widely exhibited in Spain, Belgium and France where he received many scholarships and awards, among others ‘Grand Premio de Spa’ in Belgium. He also become a member of The Royal Academy in London. His artworks are widely influenced by French Neo-Impressionism and Fauvist Raoul Duffy.
